ABOUT

Jessica Elliott is a lighting designer based in the New York and Boston areas. She has experience in theatre, opera, dance and event lighting design. She received her B.A. in Theatre from The University of Tulsa, and later earned her M.F.A. in Theatre Design from Boston University. She has worked with two event lighting companies over the last decade - Omni Lighting in Tulsa, OK and arc3design in NYC.

Jessica has been a freelance designer in Oklahoma, Massachusetts, Colorado, North Carolina, and New York. She has taught students at Boston University as a graduate student and lecturer. She has also worked with students in the theatre program at Harvard University as a lecturer, and on two occasions as a design supervisor for main stage shows.

During the pandemic, Jessica was given the opportunity to create and teach a 7-week lighting design course for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The course itself had to be completely online, but she enjoyed thinking outside the black box for a beginners course. She found online tools and utilized technology to the best of her ability, and the course proved to be rewarding for both the students and the teacher.

When she is not working, Jessica enjoys traveling the world with her husband, spending time with her family, working on various projects that require trips to the hardware store, floating in the ocean, camping, cooking new recipes and baking.
